For more than 20 years, bluebottle has supplied lighting product and services to the University of Melbourne, initially with a focus on the requirements of the Galleries and Theatres of the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA). More recently, the relationship has blossomed with the growth of our control & programming capacity and the University’s need for more diverse and sophisticated light and control products and services.
We recently commissioned a Dynalite control head end system which is now serving 5 of the University’s buildings across the Parkville and the Southbank (VCA) campuses. The buildings include the University’s oldest building, the recently refurbished Old Quadrangle, the Western Edge Biosciences building, the Arts West Building, and the newly renovated Stables and Southbank Library.
The diversity of the functions in each of the buildings calls for a lighting control system that can manage their varying and particular needs 24 hour a day. Each building has an ethernet gateway linked into the University’s server infrastructure so that only one licence is required for Dynalite system manager with all programming and control centrally managed.
The vision is to continue to add University buildings to the head end control system and so continue to improve efficiency and reduce infrastructure and on-going costs. We are looking forward to continue to work with the University and Nuvo Group on this exciting project.
