bluebottle brought a new level of brilliance to one of Darwin’s most recognisable landmarks, the Darwin Convention Centre on the city’s waterfront.
Engaged by Honeywell, bluebottle was tasked with programming and delivering a robust architectural lighting solution tailored to Darwin’s harsh environment. After a thorough assessment of the installation and environmental conditions, our team resolved ongoing previous challenges and developed a new system that enhances the building’s façade while ensuring long-term reliability and control.
The installation features Philips UNI Flood Pro luminaires (23 under the canopy and 14 above), all controlled via a Pharos LPC system. One of the project’s key achievements was transmitting DMX data from within the centre to the external canopy without the need for new cabling — a challenge solved through Lumenradio wireless DMX technology, ensuring seamless connectivity and control.
The new system is fully integrated with the bluebottle Remote Management System, giving the facility team the ability to schedule, program, and optimise lighting performance in response to events or energy targets.
Delivered in collaboration with Honeywell and Rexel Darwin, the project reflects bluebottle’s commitment to technical precision, creative problem-solving, and lighting solutions built to endure the elements — and shine for years to come.
