Melbourne Star Lights Up Again

bluebottle helps bring the Melbourne Star back to light! On opening night, it was exciting to see one of Melbourne’s most recognisable landmarks light up the skyline for the first time in five years, marking the beginning of a new chapter for this iconic attraction.

We delivered a completely redesigned lighting control system built from the ground up around Signify luminaires, Pharos Controls and Visual Productions technology.

Behind the visual experience is a sophisticated, purpose-built network architecture engineered to manage Art-Net distribution, DMX control and the demands of a large-scale lighting installation.

The system enables dynamic lighting scenes, seasonal displays and future activations to be programmed and deployed with confidence while maintaining reliability, scalability and room for expansion.

Our bluebottle Remote Management System (BRMS) adds another layer of capability, providing secure cloud-based control from virtually anywhere in the world. While also allowing our team to remotely monitor system health and performance to support the installation proactively.

The result is a powerful, resilient and future-ready control platform technically complex behind the scenes, but seamless for the operators and visitors experiencing it.

Seeing the Wheel come back to life in front of a crowd made for a memorable evening. Here’s to the Melbourne Star lighting up the skyline once again.
